I know you have had this question before, I have been reading old posts. I
have a new computer with windows 7 and publisher 2007. My web page created in
publisher 2003 transfer to pub 07 great, downloaded Global Scape CuteFTP 8.
I cannot get my web page to upload, it has been successful twice. I just dont
know what i'm doing wrong. I have read past posts and tried many things but
I still cannot get it to work. I am going nuts!! Is the process different? I
save as index to a file on my desk top and upload from there, this is how I
did it before and never had a problem what am I doing wrong now?

Thanks for any help.

I haven't read about any problems running Publisher 2007 on Windows 7 yet
and it sounds like the problem occurs after you produce your Publisher web
files. So I would guess that your problem is that CuteFTP 8 and Windows 7
are not playing well together and that this is not specifically a Publisher
problem .

It looks like there is a forum for Global Scape.
http://forums.globalscape.com/ Perhaps you should look there or the main
site for info about compatibility problems with Win 7, or even post your
problem. I would suggest that if you do that you be a bit more specific that
just saying you "cannot"...tell them what error message your are getting etc
and don't expect them to guess.

If all that results in no joy, perhaps try downloading, installing and using
FileZilla. Maybe it will work better for you.

David,
Thanks for the advice. I did go to their site and fished around a bit. I
will be more specific, it does seem as though it is uploading just fine but
when I check my site there is no change. I don not get an error message and I
dont know where it is uploading to...........

Thanks for your help

Karla,

Perhaps you aren't uploading to the root directory...the default directory
or folder on the server. Perhaps when you setup CuteFTP on the new machine
you didn't specify the correct directory? Check the web host ftp
instructions again...

Perhaps your old files and folders are not being overwritten for some
reason. You might log on to your site with your FTP client, find the current
index.htm file and index_files folder and rename by adding ".old" to each.
Then try uploading again. If you are successful you can delete the old files
and if not remove the ".old" extension to get your old files working again
until you figure out the problem.

I also forgot to add...make sure you uploading the index.htm file AND the
index_files folder...

David,
Thank you for all of your help. I am able to upload my site just fine now. I
did delete all of the old files, that must have been my problem. Thank you
again you really helped me out.
