Windows application file found a problem and has to be closed

Hello,

I know this is not the project newsgroup, but since nobody can help me
there and this seems to be a general problem:

since years I use Project 2000 Standard without problems.

suddenly I get this:
..
- Programm Start
- MS-Project runs

but then, after a few seconds:

Errormessage:

MS Project for Windows application file found a Problem and has to be
closed

After clicking the button "Do not Send" Project is ended.

No success with Repair and complete Newinstallation.

MS-Project 2000, SR1
XP Pro SP2

I did an Office-Online Update last week and since then I got this
problem

Could this be a mixup because I have 2000 and 2003 programms on my PC?

Any hints?

Hi
What does the error details say?

"Windows application file found a problem and has to be closed"

Thats all I have

When I click on "Debug" the Window is immediatly closed.

I could send you the report file, if thats any help.

I deinstalled Project the second time and found the registry entries
where still present.

When the send report is on the screen there is a detail link, this is what you
need to look at to see what has hung up your application. It would be helpful to
know this information.
Do you have Norton?
You receive an error message in a program that interacts with Word 2000 when
Norton AntiVirus or SystemWorks is installed on your computer

Can you open Project in safe mode?

Hi Mary,

sorry my answer tool so long, but I was out of town..
Do you have Norton?

I had, but I deinstalled it completely. And it worked before with
Norton.

In the meantime I also deinstalled MS-Project and installed it again
and repaired it, but no help.

Maybe something in the registry is wrong, but I dont know where to
look..

It' s a long file (53k) but I can't find anything wrong in there.
