Windows Authentication.

I've got MSP Server on a test server for evaluation, I'm trying to get the
windows authentication to work but it just won't.

On checking the settings the only difference I can see is that I haven't
specified an Active Dir X ( because there is not one ) - would this in itslef
stop the windows authentication working ?

Thanks

If you have just gotten your Project Server installation set up, you should
first create your Project Server login in Microsoft Project Professional by
doing the following:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Office Project Server
Accounts
3. Click the Add button
4. Give your account a name, such as "PS Administrator" or something like
that
5. Enter the URL for your Project Server
6. Click the Test Connection button to verify a good connection
7. Select the "Use a Project Server account" option
8. Type the word Administrator in the User name field
9. Click the OK button
10. Select the Manually control connection state option
11. Click OK
12. Close Microsoft Project Professional entirely and then relaunch the
software
13. Click the Connect button

Once you have done the above, you are now connected to Project Server
through Microsoft Project Professional using the built-in Administrator
account. Next you will need to open the Enterprise Resource Pool and add
yourself as a resource by doing the following:

1. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool
2. Click the Open/Add button
3. Enter your name in the Resource Name column
4. Double-click your name to open the Resource Information dialog
5. Enter your Windows user account in the Windows Account field
6. Click OK
7. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool

Once you have done this, Project Server will set up a Windows authenticated
user account for you in Project Server. Next, launch the Internet Explorer
and navigate to the URL for your Project Server implementation. It should
log you into PWA automatically using your Windows user account.

You will need to repeat the first set of 13 steps in Microsoft Project
Professional to create a Windows user account authenticated login. In Step
#8, select the Use Windows user account option and skip step #8. Hope this
helps.
