WINDOWS CANNOT OPEN DVZENG.EXE. . .

My Compaq Armada 4131T runs Word 97 on Windows 98
(Revised). After years of using my word processing program
(Word 97) I now receive thise message:

Windows cannot find DVZENG.EXE.

I have only modest to good computer knowledge and
facility; please provide the simplest help possible.

Do you have the CD-ROM for Word 97? If so, insert the Word 97 CD-ROM, open
Add & Remove (Control Panel), double clikc either Word 97 or Office 97
depending on what you have installed, choose to reinstall it. Also install
the latest Service Pack and Patches for Office 97.

I don't like the sound of DVZENG.EXE. It is nothing to do with Windows or
Word. I suggest first you check for a new virus. Download Stinger from
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and make sure that you don't have an
infection. Then download SpyBot from here
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download (be careful with
SpyBot as there have been a few sites popping up that are masquerading as
SpyBot and whist running and removing SpyWare it insidiously install spyware
of its own!

For heavens sake Andre, this is another totally crap answer. Just read the
other answers for a few months and you may learn something about Word and be
able to make some valid answers for a change.

The error indicates you have Conversions Plus from DataViz installed.

Did you recently uninstall it? If so then the add-in may have been
left behind.

To determine if you are using any global templates go to
Tools/Templates and Add-Ins and see if there are any global templates
or add-ins listed. If so they are located in one of your Startup
folders. The location of the Word\Startup folder can be found under
Tools/Options/File Locations and the Office\Startup folder can be
found in the Office installation path..

Take a look in each folder and if you find more than one file move
them one at a time and try duplicating the error after each file is
moved out of the folder until you determine which one is causing the
problem.
