Windows configures a scan?

I updated my virus protection, deleted cookies and .tmp files. Now I get
"Please wait while Windows configures scan" then "The feature you are trying
to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert
the 'Scan' disk and clikc OK" What did I do? And how do I correct it?
