Windows desktop search 3.0 doesn't appear after installation

I've installed Desktop search 3.0 without any problems. But it doesn't show
up in Outlook!? What to do? I've tried to reinstall with same negative result.

The only user interface options at this time for WDS 3.0 (BETA) is via the
control panel. It is the Indexing options icon. Once the data is indexed
in OL2K7B2, then searches should work. (Note: I had to rebuild the index to
get things working properly.)

O.k.,
When I go to that icon in the control panel;it says indexing paused; How
do I restart it?

i haven't found an option like wds 2.6 to force an index. instead, i've
resorted to opening outlook and then locking the workstation since i know
wds 3.0 wants to work when the system is idle.
