Windows Excel file crashes Excel

R

Rich Brown

I have an Excel workbook that was created on a Windows machine, with
a bunch of embedded graphics (WMF format). When I open the file in
Excel X (10.1.5), it goes through the process of converting the WMF
graphics, and then Excel crashes after 10 or so of the graphics have
been converted. The Excel Help file talks about corrupted graphics
filters -- could this be the problem here? Is this a known issue with
Excel?

Hi Rich,

I'm inclined to think that there is a corrupt object or font in the
document.

You might try opening the workbook in Excel 2001 and see what happens if
that's available.

Give this article a once-over to see if any of it applies to you:
