Windows Installer Pop-ups

I upgraded one of my PCs from Office 2002 to 2003. Except for a crash at the
end all seemed to go well. Eveything works but I am constantly getting the
Windows Installer window opening with "Preparing to Install". It seems to pop
up every time a document is opened. Driving me nuts.
How can I stop this?

I am aware of this program. I had to use it to fix a problem uninstalling a
program. With all the warnings it is a little scary. The question is what do
I do? "remove" Small Business Office 2003? It says it will not remove this
program so I am not sure what it will do.
