Windows Installer pops up NON-STOP

I have recently done a "system restore" to a system
checkpoint 5 days ago, and ever since I did this, any
time I click on a MS office shortcut, the Windows
Installer screed pops up. The only way I can open MS
Word, Excel etc. is if I go to "run" and type in the
program name -- and then it works, but the installer
keeps popping up every 5 min.

Please let me know how I can make my original shortcuts
work again, and how I can turn off the Window installer
because the programs are already installed.

I am having a similar problem.
Had to restore my Windows settings.
Since then every time I click a MS Office XP shortcut or actually ope
excel or word the Windows Installer window pops up and states it i
loading word or excel features even when I have already opened th
program and can see its window then I must go to open file and find th
file I want and open from there. Help! How do I stop windows installe
from doing this
