Windows installer runs every time Excel starts up

I have Excel 2002 and it was running fine until the most recent automatic
update. Now when I try to start Excel, the windows installer runs and asks
for the installation disk (which I don't have). Sometimes Excel will start,
but every time I try to save a file the installer runs. If I cancel it,
everything works fine until the next save or startup. Any idea why this is
happening and what I can do about it?

Hi,

Have you logged on and opened an Office application using an account with
Administrator rights? You must do this once for the appropriate registry
entries to be created.
