windows mail accidental delete

I'm using windows mail 6.0.6000.16386 within vista v6 build 6000.
When a new message is created the option "File, Delete" is not available.
If "File, Save" is used to save the file in drafts folder then "File, Delete"
becomes available. One consequence of this is that if Ctrl + D is pressed
inadvertently (in place of Shift + D for example) then the whole message is
deleted without warning and without any chance of retrieval.
This doesn't happen in Outlook Express.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?

You need to post to microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail - this group is for
Microsoft OFFICE. Windows mail is NOT part of Office.
