Actually Windows ME wasn't close to Win 2000 at all. (And what a waste of

I'll give you that one but most home users don't have the (1) know-how, (2)
time, (3) inclination, or (4) patience to do so.

I used to sell computers and all I ever heard about Win ME were complaints.
Gee - why did I stick with Win98? DUH! Upgrading to XP has been okay - so
far. The skeptic in me can't be kept down.

before xp and xp pro I had only used windows 98/ se. I'd say that xp is
head and shoulders over the 98 version. I really like it. haven't had a
crash or other unusual lock up on it ever and I'm not all that "nice" to my
computers either.
