windows media player just says opening... wont open/play emails

Hi, im not sure im in the right section for this question (someone may be
able to direct me?)
Ive been having trouble with windows media player. It used to play emails
etc but now wont. I am running ME. windows media player 9. I may have
accidently changed the settings somehow. I have had to do system restore etc.
Can anyone assist.

Media Player doesn't have anything to do with e-mail - it plays audio and
video files.
