I have a link to .wmv file on a page in my site where the link opens a video
about the organization. My question is "is there a way or a script that can
be added to the page that does not let the vidoe open inside Internet
Explorer?"

I had a couple of the execs open the video and their IE is set up to play
media within IE, and just above the video is a pop-up ad for let's say a
company that doesn't project a good corporate image.

Any help would be appreciated.

Chip,

I do not know of a way that you can do this, but I believe
the media inside of IE is only on IE6. The next service
pack coming out will remove this feature. If they are on XP
then SP2 has the aforementioned IE6 service pack within it

An alternative may be to create a new page and use the
Windows Media Player addin for frontpage. Then you could
use a link to open up the page with the video on it in a new
window.

Thanks Mike. That worked. One other question, is there a way to add a stop,
pause and play button to the page that will work on the video, since all I
saw was start on page load or mouse over.

Try right clicking on the WMP comnponent on the page and
going through the property sheets for it.

Here is an audio only example of Spawn from JimCo addins
launching a popup with a WMP add in (audio only)
