windows messenger/Outlook 2002

Hello........i am running office xp 2002 on windows xp
professional and every time that i open up outlook 2002,
windows messgenger 6.0 opens up...windows messenger is
not even on the list of programs automatically set to
open up on the Start up programs tab...can anybody help
and tell why this is happening?....thanks...Rolf
