when i had to reboot my computer because of a virus,
everything but word 2000 was reinstalled, how do i get to
reinstall word 2000 again, all i get is type in reg number
on sticker which i never had as it was already on the
computer.

You should have been provided with the media for any installed applications.
Somewhere in the stuff you got from the OEM will be an Office or Word or
Works Suite CD, and the number will be on a sticker on the CD container or
printed on the Certificate of Authenticity.
