Windows open up repeatedly

This happens primarily in Outlook 2003, but also in other Windows
applications to a lesser degree, and any help would be appreciated.

When I work with Outlook, and then switch to another application, Access for
example, I minimize Outlook. The Window minimizes and closes, but then
rapidly opens and closes again, sometimes 2-3 times before it stops. Am I
missing a setting that should be addressed?

I would suspect a bunch of spyware has found their way to your system.
Download, install, update and scan with Ad-aware SE:

morning cleanup routine.

If you keep the malware off, I suppose that it would be rather presumptive
of me to suggest a virus scan. I have nothing more to offer. Maybe someone
else will rescue you.

Do you have any other windows of Outlook open, such as File->Open->OTher
User's folder? Do you have windows displayed as separate views (right click
in any folder and select Open in New Window)? If you check Task Manager,
how many instances of Outlook.exe processes are showing?
