Windows Search 4.0 download - not a valid Win 32 application

When I try to download Windows Search 4.0 for Windows XP I get the message
that ".....WindowsSearch-KB940157-XP-x86-enu.exe is not a valid Win 32
application." Any ideas how I can fix this? thanks

This usually happens if your download is corrupt; download it again, or
install it via http://www.update.microsoft.com/ (Software, Optional).

I have the same problem . . . despite repeated downloads . . . .and despite
having MS automatic updates turned on.
