windows startup

Hi - I took your advice and went into www.windows.startup.com - paid $29.95
and registered with Mechanic Registry to scan my whole computer for errors -
They found 295 and repaired them.

However, my computer is still sluggish? what else should I do?

I have a 2002 Sony Vaio notebook - XP oper. sys.
