I have Office 2007 on Win Vista Home Premium. The auto updates is suggesting
I should download and update Office XP Service Pack 3. Everytime I cancel it,
it comes back after a while. Since I have Office 2007 it shouldn't tell me to
update Office XP, right?

How can I definetely terminate this update atempt without preventing further
updates?

Hi frederico,

The updater uses the same information used by the Windows control panel to
figure out what office applications are installed. Check your Windows
control panel's Add/Remove Programs applet to see if there are remnants from
an old Office XP installation and uninstall those you don't need.

I never had Office XP installed in this machine.
I remember updates used to give the option to "not ask about this update
again". Isn't this possible anymore. How can I get rid of this update atempt?

An Office-family product could give the same result (not just Office XP core
itself). Did you check the Windows Control Panel?
