Windows Vista, VSTO 2005 SE addin on Office 2003 not working

S

stensby

Environment:
Windows Vista
Visual Studio 2005
VSTO 2005 SE
Office 2003 Professional

Problem:
I've just upgraded from XP to Vista and after that even the simplest
VSTO Outlook 2003 addin doesn't work any more.
I can't debug the project and ThisApplication_Startup event not firing.

When I look at the addin i Outlook (COM Add-Ins/Add-Ins available) the
Load Behavior is "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the load
of the COM Add-in."

Does anyone knows if it's possible to develop a VSTO 2005 SE addin for
Office 2003 on Windows Vista??

Kindly help me with this issue

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Y3VyaW91cw==?=,
I also installed Office 2007 and VSTO SE and now I cannot open my old Excel
programs and cannot create new Excel projects in Visual studio 2005. I have
not been able to get any answer to my posts about a solution. I am going to
restore the system to before Office 2007 installation and forget about the
upgrade until there is a solution.
The current full version of VSTO (not SE) requires Office 2003. If Office 2003
is not present on the machine, you can't work with document-level projects.
There is currently no full version of VSTO that can work with document-level
projects; this will be part of Orcas and probably available sometime next
year. Office 2003 document-level projects can be run with Office 2007
(probably, it depends on what parts of the object model you address).

The VSTO 2005 SE provides support only for creating Add-ins targeted at either
Office 2003 or Office 2007.

Thanks Cindy. This means that I have to have Office 2003 on a computer for
document-level projects. I wish I knew this two days ago; I have converted
all my office installations to 2007 version. I have to uninstall office 2007
from one machine and reinstall office 2003. I wish Microsoft had explained
this somewhere.
