Hi people

I have windows vista premium service pack 1 but when ever i try to install
programs such as itunes, quicktime, and even microsoft office, i continuesly
get this following message
("This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid windows Installer package")
If we use itunes as an example, i downloaded the official setup file of the
apple website and apple even stated that this version of itunes is compatable
with windows vista.

Can any one help me with this issue i would be rather grateful thanks

Are you running the setup program as Administrator? Sometimes that helps.

Might try posting question in Vista newsgroup, this one is for MS Access the
database program. The Vista folks may be better able to help you out. Pete

I ran into the same problem & I know this is EXTREME but I just
uninstalled & reinstalled sp1 and it worked like a charm but if you are
useing any custom dll's (vista glazz ect..) then uninstall them and reboot
before you uninstall sp1,you can redoe the dll's after you re-install. This
fixed a multitude of problems for a few others before I finaly gave it a go
& I'm glad I did ! Good Luck & let us know how it turns out either way.
