Windows won't install two different "packaged" Access applications

I have two completely different applications developed and packaged with
Access Developers Extensions. When I try to install the second one, Windows
always always objects and says I already have another version of this program
installed, and that I have to "remove" or "configure" the prior version
before installation.

If I uninstall the first application then Windows will let me install the
second, but then objects when I try to install the first again.

Anybody know some way around this bug?
