Windows XP and Mac OSX Powerpoint sharing issues

I work on a Powerbook G3 at work running OSX. The company runs XP. I
can open the PPT 2002 file my boss sent to me as an attachment but
when I try to do a "save as" so that I can work on it I run into this
problem - Powerpoint "unexpectedly quits" and when I reopen it and
then try to open the saved as PPT file it tells me that this file is
corrupt.

I tried saving the attachent to my desktop or the shared drive before
opening but this didn't help. I tried renaming the file and tried
opening PPT before opening the attachement but the same thing
happened.

I would appreciate any help on this...

I'm guessing you are using PowerPoint X. Please state your PowerPoint
version number in future posts.

First try applying the latest Office updates. For Office X, download and
install the latest Office X updates, which are 10.1.2 and 10.1.4 (10.1.3 is
unnecessary). They¹re available from Microsoft.

If that doesn't help, it is possible the presentation is corrupt. Try the
tips here:
