Windows XP and Office 2000 problem

Hi

I have a PC that did have Win98 on it and I've just over-installed XP. I've
installed Office 2000 on it and now, whenever I start one of the Office
apps, a Windows Installer dialog box pops up and 'configures' and 'checks'
for about 30secs before closing and the app then runs as it should. Please
help - it's driving me mad.

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall Office? It seems
that I had similar problems w/ the same XP/Office 2000
combination and this fixed it... no guarantees though :)
