Someone in need of help with office installer

I recently tried to install office xp complete, but during
installation I am requested to insert my windows xp service
pack 1 cd, which I have never owned, because setup needs
additional files before it can complete installation. I
already have been to the microsofts update page and am
updated with all the windows updates, but every time I try
to update office I keep getting an installation process pop
up which ultimatly is asking for the same windows xp
service pack 1 cd. How can I either 1.) get the cd to end
this problem for cheap, 2.) download the proper updates or
software, or 3.) remedy the situation with something else?
Please help thank you
desperatly

You should be able to download the service pack as a
whole from the microsoft website. search around. the
service pack includes updates that are not released via
automatic updates and that could be the problem. You can
also order the service pack CD from microsoft off their
website but i think that they charge like 7-10 dollars
when you could just download it for free.
