Windows XP update and active "X" control.

This may be a dumb question to some but it seems frequently when
checking for updates for XP it has to install or run active "X"
controls.

Why ?? If it does it once why do it several times?? Aren't they all
the same??

Thanks

No, the active-x objects are not the same. In the case of Microsoft/Windows
Update, Microsoft has to update the control when new products are coming
online. I would expect to see an update since Office 2010 just went live to
the public at the end of April. Seeing it everyday on the other hand makes
me wonder if there is an issue with your PC.

Thanks much for for the reply. Makes sense I guess. As for issues
with system I think it is good. I have had no other problems.

I scan it daily with malwarebytes' anti-malware and AVG Free which are
updated daily.

Thanks again.
