The update won't finish! Keeps giving "WindowsUpdate_0000057E"
"WindowsUpdate_dt000" and then won't finish. Where do I start? What do I
delete? Add? Why is this happening! Please help!

Its a security update for Word 2007.

Insert your Office install CD into your CD\DVD Rom while doing the Updates

The update does not try to access the cdrom drive at all, so your suggestion
wont work!

Peter, I had my installation disc in when I ran the update again. It did not try to access my cd/rom.
Also after retrying the installation I restarted my computer and it couldn't start Vista normally. It had to run a repair program. Any ideas? I have the Student version of Office XP 2002. Trying to install Service pack 3.

I had the same problem, installation CD in the drive but the updates still
failed with code 0057E. Is there an answer?
