1) This newsgroup is for the Access Database program, please try one of the
Windows XP newsgroups.

2) This is a common error if you have had some third party software
installed that messes up the networking built into WinXP. It is also common
with some of the spy ware and viruses out there. Try one of the WinXP
newsgroups and give then the EXACT error message you are receiving and they
should be able to help. There are some things that can be done to force a
reinstall of the built-in WinXP TCP/IP. However, I've also seen where this
wasn't sufficient and a reinstall of Windows was required. Fortunately, a
maintenance install was sufficient in the case I was working on.
