WinFax starter edition

I've just setup Winfax in Outlook 2000 but I appear to
have lost my dial tone. And I can't dial out on the home
line (which is the same line used for the modem) since I
installed the Winfax facility.

Does anybody know why?

Thanks

Jackie

Hi

My OS is Windows XP. I installed the fax facility by
trying to send a fax. The set up procedure kicked in and
I inserted the Office 2000 disc.

I have a wireless connection to broadband AND a modem as
a backup. My modem is Intel(R) 536EP modem.

I was able to dial and connect to the internet using the
modem but then it stopped working

Does any of this help?

No. Could you tell us more about what you did, what type of modem and how it
is connected, and what OS?

Not without error messages or some sign of what's wrong.
Be aware that WinFax SE is very old and was never supported. It barely
worked in its day. It's hard to imagine it would work with current OS and
current modem drivers.

Is there a fax programme I could run from my PC that you
would recommend?

P.S. Be sure you remove WinFax SE _completely_ before you try it. Not an
easy task:
