or you should just use a platform that supports integration with
Active Directory

like SQL Server

Jet has -ZERO- security and you sit there and try to re-invent the
wheel.

SQL Server has built in integration with Active Directory.. select
suser_name() is all I need to do to get this information into a SQL
Statement (and it works, even when someone has vba disabled)

This is wrong. Jet does have some security although it can be tricky to work with.
Granted SQL Server has better data security but it's more difficult to work with.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Jet has _NO_ security.

And SQL Server has _USABLE_ security because it integrates with Active
Directory.
SQL Server security is _EASIER_ because you can script it using plain
old DDL statements.

You can fire DDL statements from a sproc.

Can you do that with Jet?? ROFL

aaron.kempf

how exactly is SQL Server security -HARDER- to use, Tony??

Please explain to me--- Because you're nothing but a lying piece of
shit faggot

just because you attempted ONE upsizing ONCE and it was too hard for
you-- that doesn't mean that you can bully anyone else that chooses to
use SQL Server.

It just means that you're more stupid than 90% of the real database
programmers in the real world

aaron.kempf

there's a GUI.. you can do it in a GUI... is a GUI too hard for you???

SQL Server is _EASIER_ to use than Jet, you fucking reard
that is why SQL Server is the worlds most popular database.. and Jet
isn't.

Or, if you don't like the GUI, there are scripts--- for setting up
users or granting permissions.. you can do it with scripts.

in other words-- SQL Server security is easy to automate.

Meanwhile, you and your faggot retard friends need to write mountains
of UNMAINTAINABLE vba code to do anything

WRONG WRONG WRONG

Jet does indeed have security. Security choices depend on your needs.

No need to reply, as you so often do, that security was removed from Access
2007. That statement will be incorrect too, as has been pointed out time
and again.

Mr. Kempf, Mr. Toews is not in the least stupid nor is he "bullying" anyone.
The one attempting to "bully" people in this newsgroup is you. You are also
the one who so frequently uses vulgar and offensive language -- I am
surprised that any ISP allows you to post to newsgroups using their
facilities.
