Winword /a problems

Ralph Shumway

There is not one copy of normal. anything on my PC and the
following key does not exist, any thoughts?

\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Data

Hi Ralph

Try renaming Normal.dot (this will be in your user templates directory - as
shown in Tools > Options > File locations - you will need to browse to see
the full path). If that works you will need to transfer any customisations
from the old Normal.dot to the fresh one that Word will have created.

If it doesn't work then the problem may lie in another 'global add-in'
template - check what is loaded from Tools > Templates and Add-ins

If you're running Windows XP, the user templates folder is hidden. You have
to have your Folder Options set to display hidden files and folders in order
to see it.
