Winword has insuffecient resources

have a win98 box, w/ office and whenever word is trying
to open it says insufficent resources... this is a new
error... doesnt happen to any other office programs or
anyother memory hungry programs. has antivirus software..

one time when it was open.. it said word has occured a
serious error.. then crashed.. i didnt write down the
error...

sound like a file got corrupted?
