Winword parameter is "incorrect"

I've just reinstalled my CD of Office 2000 Small Business because I
wanted to add components not previously installed. Now, everything
works except Winword. When I try to open the application, the message
is "The parameter is incorrect." I tried the repair option, but no
change. Suggestions for a fix, please.

Wipe Office in its entirety. Reboot, reinstall.
