Wire shape causes Visio to hang

After upgrading from Visio 2003 to 2007, sometimes when draging the end of a
wire shape causes visio to hang. Is this a known problem and is there a fix?
It's very frustrating as my only option is killing (losing any unsaved
changes) and restarting visio.

I've not seen in reference to this problem nor have I experienced it. By
wire shape, I presume you mean a dynamic connector.

What doe sometimes mean? As in the same drawing sometimes OK, then it'll
misbehave, or some types of drawings are OK and others are not, or new, V2007
drawings are OK, but only (some/all) older, V2003 drawings are not? There
might be a specific issue, but, in general, it's not something I've
experienced or recall reading about at any level.

BTW, which operating system?

I'm using the "Wire connecter" from "Electrical and Telecom (US units)" which
is in the "Building Plan" group of "Maps and Floor Plans". I'm running Vista
SP1 with Visio 2007 SP1. I'm doing a house remodel and have invested many
hours (hundreds) on a set of drawings in one visio file. By "sometimes" I
mean that it is always the same file and when I try to move a wire, it might
be the first wire or the tenth wire, visio will hang. The file I'm using was
originally created in Visio 2003. I'm guessing it may have something to do
with what other shapes I happen to drag the wire end over although I haven't
fully tested out that theory.

A recommendation and something to try:
1.) Create a backup file!!! Hate to lose all of those invested hours.
2.) If this is a Visio doc with many multiple pages you might try making
decremental saves. By that I mean, make smaller files that consist of only
one page. See if the erroneous behavior goes away. You might be able to
isolate the issue to a single page.
3.) Then gradually grow one of the files by adding one page at a time.
Perhaps there is some sort of memory issue?

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it a shot.

Sounds to me like a video drivers problem. Much of the processing of
moving blocks around on the screen is now delegated to the video
processor.
Check that you have the latest drivers, you are using Vista, flaky
drivers is even more likely in this case.
Can you change your video resolution to see if that makes any
difference, also reduce any video hardware acceleration.

Another thing you may want to try is to save the drawing as vdx then back
to vsd, round tripping the file to clean up possible corruption.
