Wizard duplicated Personal folders

I did a clean install of WinXP & Office 2003 on a new harddrive - complete
with all service packs and updates. Then used Transfer Files and Settings
Wizard to move from Win98 & Office 2000.
In Outlook 2003 I now have duplicate Personal Folders and all sub-folders -
all tracing to the same standard mailbox.
I am afraid if I delete one of the Personal Folders sets I will also delete
the .pst and have nothing. I would not lose what is on the Transfer disk -
but would lose 200 new emails just downloaded from server.
Solution? - Thanks.

You can close the second folder by right clicking on it or choosing Close
from the File menu. You cannot delete the main pst folder. With both folders
open in Folder View, you can move those items you want to the new pst folder.
Then archive the old one in case you ever need it. The older folder will
appear at the bottom of the folder list.

How do I know which is the NEW one to keep when they are absolutely identical
reading the same pst? Would it be the top one or the bottom one?
Thanks

As I said, you cannot delete the main pst folder, but you can close it. The
"real" one will be at the top of the folder list with the duplicate below
both named Personal Folders . You'll have to scroll down to see it. Make sure
you set the View to Folder List. Just don't delete anything to be safe. Use
the close command. You can always use File, Open to reopen it.

I tried everything, read all the apers about this subject in knowledge base.
And nothing worked, I still have the two identical Personal Folders where
excactly everything is duplicated, none allows me to close it if I right
click on each. If I change the name of the bottom Personal Folder I guet a
whole mess, and cn't see my data anymore. It two Folders contain exactly the
same data.
Can you help me please.
