hey. i had a virus, and had norton antivirus take care of
everything, a i think it deleted "wkswp.exe" the program
came with my computer, so i dont have a disk, and i REALLY
dont wanna do a system restore. is there anything i can do?
i'm running on windows 98.

That would probably be the Works word processor. You should have received a
Works CD with your computer, from which you can reinstall the program.

I TRIED!!!! i'm going nuts here. i used the CD but i dont
have a jewel case, so i dont have a CD key number. i also
found in the folder a "reinstall" option, but that gives
me a mesage that says "setup could not launch the MDAC
installation" someone, please help

OEM versions of software often don't come with a jewel case. If the CD is in
a cardboard folder, the CD key will be printed on the Certificate of
Authenticity that is pasted to that folder. If it's in a binder, the COA may
be in the binder as well.
