wmv anomaly (2nd try)

1st post didn't seem to make it.

winXP home
officeXP

...wmv file encoded with windows media 9. file plays fine in media player. when I drop it into a powerpoint slide, it's seen as an audio file. no video. any ideas why this might be happening?

What version of PPT? Only PPT 2003 recognizes WMP9 files. The (almost)
universal playable file is a MPEG1 or .avi (though quality is less than
desirable with .avi's).
