won't insert jpeg photos

I am trying to insert photos from a CD. When I attempt to insert the screen
says power point cannnot open the jpeg files. I have done this previously
successfully. I know the cd disc is burned successfully. What's up with the
power point program? dt

Can you open the JPEG files individually outside of PowerPoint from the CD?
