Won't 'paste' what's been 'copied' and won't 'cut' text

Hi,

'Selecting' is assumed below.

Copy, cut and paste (apple+x+c+v & the same from the drop down menu bar)
aren't working correctly either within one message window of Entourage, or
from one window to another.

A 'cut' will not paste what's cut. It'll paste something from a _prior_ cut,
either from within Entourage, from Word, from Safari (and maybe other apps.)
to Entourage.

The "Delete" key works on selected items, but then paste doesn't paste the
item that's been deleted. It pastes the previous copy or cut, as I mention
above.

Example: I've just selected and copied the word 'Entourage', and now I'm
pasting it, and this is what I get:

GarageSale Getting Started
Contents [hide]
1 Getting Started
1.1 Tutorial Video
1.2 Modes
1.3 Preview Mode
1.4 Editor Mode
1.5 Inspector Window
Getting Started

In this case, the paste is from a Safari page that I copied quite a few
experiments prior to this paste, probably when I pasted it into a word doc.

Hope I've made this clear.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Rafael

Where are you selecting?

There is a known issue copy text from a complex HTML received message
in Entourage - it doesn't always work!

However, your description of using 'cut' leads me to believe that this
is not the problem you are seeing - using cut in a received message
would not be appropriate.

Please can you clarify where you are cutting/copying the text from?

Barry,

I got it to work correctly. How? I can't remember to tell you I've been
doing so much stuff. Thanks for your response.

I think I know what you mean about "using cut in a received message would
not be appropriate." It just doesn't work and if I want to change something
in a received email I have to press reply and work on that doc.

You are asking to "Edit" a received message.

For Entourage 2004, under Message in the Menu bar select "Edit Message".

Barry,

Thanks. I had numerous problem with Entourage, but it's working now. Simple
restarting was one of the main things that helped.
