Word '02 Runtime Error

Hi! I need help. My computer arbitrarily shut down and rebooted itself
today. After it came back up, I was unable to open WORD documents sent as
email attachments. I receive the following message:

Runtime Error!
Program: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office 10/WINWORD.EXE
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

I had the same problem. I saw the post by Suzanne Barnhill and followed it to
my registry and renamed ...\microsoft\office\10.0\word\data and then
restarted word. It seemed to work and opened normally. Good luck.
