Word 200 sr-1 suddenly crashing

I updated from Microsoft recently and now my XP system
with Word 2000 SR-1 crashes when I try opening it. I have
read three other messages with the same problem.
Microsoft what is going on?

My error message shows winword.exe in the error message.
Also, 9.0.0 3822; this happens when I open Word 2000 sr-1
and it gives an error message and crashes. Does this help
identify the problem?
