Word 2000 & 2003 compatibility issues

I have word 2003 professional. I'm trying to open a
document that was created with word 2000. This file is
on a network, and people with word 2000 are able to open
the file, but people with word 2003 are not, we get a
message saying that the file is corrupted. Is there a
compatibility issue between these two versions of word?
Is there a way that I can open this file in word 2003
without losing any of the formatting?

There are no file format compatibility issues. Try using File, Open,
selecting the file and then use the Open and Repair option from the Open
Tab.
