Word 2000/2003

B

Bert

Hi,

After every hard return the next word starts with a capitol. Any idea as to
how to prevent that from happening?
Thanks!

Tools>AutoCorrect Options>AutoCorrect>Capitalize first letter of sentences.
Uncheck it.

Bert, unlike jacking the carriage on a manual typewriter or pressing return
on an electric, pressing enter is Word sends an instruction to Word to start
a new paragraph. As paragraphs start with sentences and sentences and the
first letter of sentences is capitalized the setting is appropriate.

If you simply want a line break (we will call that equivelent to jacking the
carriage) press Shift+Enter.
