word 2000 and word 2002 hang

Iam the IT specialist for a certain organistion
I received a complaint from one of the users that word 2000 had hang, i tried doing a virus scan, i run spyware removal program, i tried deleting the data key for word in the registry, i deleted the normal.dot template but all was in vain

incidentally , every other day another user complains of the same problem. some with office XP and some with office 2000

in office 2000 word hangs when u try opening a new blank document, but a document's that are already written in can be opened without a problem

for the users with office XP word opens but you can't type anything in the document, there is a small box that appears at the beginning of a new document with the cursor. Other office applications work well however. I have also tried a reinstall but with no success.
now when i logon as administrator on the users machine every thing is fine, i can open word normally without any problem

please help , i could loose my job for this !

Are you running Norton also, disable any Office plugins in the options of
Norton.

I posted a similar error and received advice from this
newsgroup. I have had success disabling the handwriting
recognition in the languages area of the regional
settings in control panel.

start-settings-control panel-regional and language-
languages-details. Remove handwriting and speech
recognition.

Rename normal.dot as normal.bad.
