Word 2000 changes W97 paper size

I have transferred hundreds of documents created in Word
97 to my new comoputer running word 2000. Every one of
these, when opened has the paper size (originally A4)
change to a strange Custom Size.

Have gone through all the printer and page settings - new
docs are fine, just the old ones...please help as it is
hugely time-consuming to change the documents...

With thanks

This maybe caused by a printer driver problem. Try downloading a new one
from the manufacturer's website

I did not think that the information on the following page of fellow MVP
Graham Mayors website applied to 2000, but it may and it may cause the
custom size:

I don't think it applies to Word 2000 either :(
Character units came with Asian language compatibility in Word 2002.
I'm with you on the printer driver - is there even a default printer driver
configured on this new machine?

Thanks a million. Yes there is a printer, but will
download and install driver as suggested and let you know
outcome.
