Word 2000 crash

I have Office 200 Pro (SR-1) loaded on a Vaio laptop with
XP Home. When I try to open Word or a doc, the program
crashes and will not open. I have removed/installed the
suite 3 times and no change. All other programs (Access,
Excel..) work fine. Can anyone help??
