Word 2000 - Crashes when trying to save after making changes

Using Word 2000 (9.0.2720)-problem only with this doc.
Have large doc with many graphics (1460 KB). Coverted to
PDF. Needed to make additional changes to original doc.
Doc opens fine, allows you to make changes, but upon
trying to save I get following error msg:

Application Error:
The instruction at "0x30a91745" referenced memory
at "0x00000450". The memory could not be read.

Click OK to terminate program.
Click CANCEL to debug program.

Clicking CANCEL just terminates program. The above occurs
on all machines in our office. Corrupt graphics involved?

Sometimes you can resolve this by opening a fresh blank document and use
Insert, File to insert it into the new blank. However, it doesn't work for
all corruptions, only some.
