WORD 2000 - error loading

Word had been working fine on my XP home system until
recently. I don't know what changed, but now when I try
to load Word 2000 (installed as part of Works Suite 2000)
it errors with the dialog box "Microsoft Word for Windows
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience." and it offers to send a
report to Microsoft. I have uninstalled and reinstalled
but no luck.
