Word 2000 Freezes.

Word 2000 was working fine, until recently. When a Word
2000 file is opened the title bar flashes blue & gray.
Cursor moves but, nothing else works & file wont close
unless Task Mgr is used. Removed & Re-installed & same
problem. Removed & it, and intsalled Word 97 and it works
fine. No virus was detected. Would like to get Word 2000
running again. Anyone else had this problem?

Tom, if you'r running Norton anti-virus, open it up, go
to options, click miscellaneous and uncheck the "Enable
Office Plug-in" box and re-boot. Thatsolved that problem
for me
